Sanctuary at solid rock

Sanctuary at Solid Rock is a division of Solid Rock Community School, Inc. a non-profit K-12 school.  The Sanctuary at Solid Rock campus will serve several important functions:

  1. Solid Rock Community School will offer a high school program, called "SAVE" (Sanctuary for Animals and Veterinary Education) for students with a true passion and interest in animal related career and college opportunities. These students will graduate with numerous hours of clinical experience, many certifications and college credits. Example classes include- veterinary medicine, animal care, animal grooming, habitats (natural and bioactive), animal rescue and rehab, humane education, wildlife conservation, sustainable food and gardening and much more.  Some of the animal experiences included and examples of animals in the program are - domesticated animals (dogs, cats), farm animals (pigs, cows, chickens), exotic animals (chinchillas, hedgehogs), reptiles (turtles, bearded dragons), primates (marmosets, tamarinds, capuchins), birds (parakeets, conures).  The Sanctuary at Solid Rock campus will be a site for aspects of this program so students can receive clinical experiences under the direction of qualified staff.
  2. Sanctuary at Solid Rock will offer humane education classes and workshops to our community teaching people to care for and respect animals and the environment. .
  3. Sanctuary at Solid Rock will offer a forever home to our sanctuary animal residents. We will have a full staff of live-in caretakers, vet techs, humane educators and volunteers on a campus that is being designed with the animal residents comfort and needs in mind.

Sanctuary at Solid Rock is a next level campus to make a greater impact in the education of animal and environmental related issues and needs. The SAVE program is a robust immersion multi-year program giving qualified and interested students an opportunity to earn career certificates and dual enrollment credits while in high school.  We are super excited to be involved with numerous rescues and sanctuaries who are assisting with training and support as we design and implement this new program.  Together we can!
