Sanctuary at Solid Rock
A Sanctuary for Animals. A Classroom for Compassion.
The Sanctuary at Solid Rock provides safe, lifelong refuge to animals rescued from neglect, abandonment, and crisis situations. It also serves as a powerful educational extension of the school, offering students hands-on opportunities to learn about animals, ethical care, and humane values.
At the sanctuary:

  • Rescued animals—from lemurs and parrots to pigs, tortoises, and pigeons—receive individualized, enrichment-based care
  • Students engage in real-world lessons through daily interactions and responsibilities
  • Animal-assisted learning supports student growth in compassion, empathy, focus, and emotional regulation.
  • The sanctuary is home to S.A.V.E. (Sanctuary for Animals and Veterinary Education)—a multi-year high school program preparing students for animal related careers in veterinary care, wildlife rehab, animal law, and more.
  • We host rescue partnerships, plant-based outreach events, and community education experiences that extend beyond the classroom
